Article: Enrollment fees at community colleges increased to $26 per unit for Fall 2009 as mandated by an education trailer bill to the 2009-10 state budget that was signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

State Chancellor Jack Scott directed community college administrators throughout the state to begin collecting the higher fees immediately. Students who have already registered and paid $20 per unit will be required to pay the additional $6 per unit. The higher fees will be added to students' accounts on MySite and students will receive an email about their outstanding balance.

Students who qualified for a Board of Governors Fee Waiver will have their additional fees paid automatically and do not need to take any action. Students who have not applied for financial aid can still request help to pay for fees, books and other expenses at the Saddleback College or Irvine Valley College Financial Aid Offices.
